BIOGRAPHY

Mirko Pedrotti, born in 1983, is an eclectic musician involved in both classical and modern music.

He graduated in Percussion in 2007 at the "F. A. Bonporti" Conservatory of Trento, and subsequently specialized with honours at the "Evaristo Felice Dall’Abaco" Conservatory of Music in Verona with Saverio Tasca. In March 2013 he gained a further diploma in Jazz Music at the Trento Conservatory under the guidance of Roberto Cipelli and Robert Bonisolo.

 

Since 2007 he has performed with numerous orchestras, among which: La Scala Theatre in Milan, Accademia Nazionale Di Santa Cecilia (Rome), Teatro Regio di Torino, Orchestra Haydn (Bolzano), Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona, Filarmonica della Scala (Milan), Orchestra Regionale Toscana (Florence), Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali (Milan), Camerata Strumentale di Prato, Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana (Piacenza), Fondazione Pistoiese Promusica (Pistoia), European Youth Wind Orchestra, World Youth Orchestra.

 

He has played under internationally-famous conductors, such as: Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniel Harding, Riccardo Chailly, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi, Gianandrea Noseda, Ingo Metzmacher, Sir Neville Marriner, Juraj Valčuha, Andrea Battistoni e George Pehlivanian.

 

Mirko has always combined academic study with that of modern music, attending numerous seminars and courses throughout Italy with top musicians such as: Dave Samuels, Saverio Tasca, Andrea Dulbecco, Edoardo Giachino, Leigh Howard Stevens, Mike Quinn, David Searcy, Giorgio Zanier.

In 2013 he formed the “MPQ” quintet with whom he has already recorded three CDs and performed in more than 50 concerts in Italy and abroad; he is also currently collaborating with various other groups and instrumental ensembles, namely: Euregio Jazzwerkstatt, Gianmarco Scaglia and Paul Wertico Quartet, TT Jazz Collettive, Jemm Music Project.

Mirko has also had the pleasure of working, among others, with: Paul Wertico, Ari Hoenig, Gianluca Petrella, Chris Montague, Reinier Baas, Matthias Schriefl, Carlo Mombelli, Nils Berg, Kit Downes, Matthew Welch, Alberto Marsico, Saverio Tasca.

He has performed in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, England, Holland, Oman and Lithuania.
